The B2B platform for full-electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles: Industry NewsCar manufacturers team up with governments in zero-emission mobility projects. ![]() The partnership aims at carrying out plans for developing electric vehicles infrastructure, incentives to make electric cars available for citizens and awareness raising for zero-emission vehicles. In April 2009 already, Nissan had partnered with the Chinese Ministry of Industry (MIIT) for the development of a national strategy to introduce zero emission vehicles (ZEVs). The car maker provides the MIIT with information on electric vehicles (EVs) and proposes blueprints for a battery-charging network as well as a programme for mass marketing EVs in China. In this vein, the Chinese government has launched a pilot programme to roll out electric vehicles for public transport in 13 cities. In order to further support these plans, Nissan has also teamed up with the municipality of Wuhan to create the first pilot city for zero emission mobility. Expansion of zero-emission partnerships worldwide Nissan has signed similar zero-emission partnerships with more than 30 governments, municipalities and companies worldwide, one further example being the Miyazaki Prefecture in Japan. This prefecture combines the zero-emission mobility project with proactive promotion of renewable energy and projects such as the “Miyazaki Solar Frontier Vision” promoting the potential of solar power in order to achieve a truly low-carbon society. | Community Activity asher touriel | 12 hours ago Joined!
