The Japanese city Yokosuka has implemented fast charger terminals in the city centre and shows strong political commitment to the promotion of electric vehicles. ![]() Strong political commitment The official celebration through the Mayor of Yokosuka, Yuuto Yoshida, and the attendance by a representative of the Japanese Lower House, Shinjirou Koizumi, show strong political commitment to promote and facilitate the wider spread of electric vehicles in Japan. The Mayor repeatedly emphasised that Yokosuka aspires to become an environmentally friendly city and attract eco-tourists through the calm and clean air that the conversion to electric mobility will provide.
