The B2B platform for full-electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles: Events NewsThe Motor Show is almost over but plenty of new EV presentations during the event might guide the way into the future. In the last part of the Geneva special cars21.com will introduce you to innovative projects and companies from Geneva’s Green Pavilion. + IMAGE GALLERY ![]() Project ELMAR at Geneva Motor Show 2010 Project ELMAR 28 students of the Project Engineering Department of DHBW University Mannheim, Germany, got the task to develop a trendsetting vehicle in just 9 months. With several industry partners including BASF, Continental, Fraunhofer, and Sharp, they combined highly modern construction materials, innovative electric single wheel propulsions, powerful batteries and a complex electronic to the ELMAR concept. The vehicle uses an innovative carbon-fibre construction of four connected arms weighing together just 40 kg. Acceleration pedals are replaced by pressure sensors and the vehicle can be steered by using your mobile phone. The ELMAR project aims to show how efficient a modular, light-weight concept with a maximum integration of functionalities is, and encourage suppliers to invest in innovative but user-friendly and simple solutions to de-carbonize transport. Technical Highlights:
The Swiss company that exhibited its new battery management system (BMS) at the Green Pavilion of the Geneva Motor Show has developed a BMS that is meant to use the battery more efficiently as it allows drawing almost the entire energy of the charge. Best case, this would safe costs for the battery and extend the range significantly compared to a conventional system for EVs. The company’s chairman reassured cars21.com that after years of development work the patented system is now ready for series production and adaptive to all changes that will come up in the next years as regards battery technology. DOK-ING’s XD Concept – Croatia’s first Electric Car Croatia's first concept electric vehicle (EV) has attracted attention at the Geneva Auto Show where it was unveiled for the first time. The small car of 2.8 metres length has an innovative design and customisable rear lighting designs to give an individual touch to each car. It accelerates from 0-100 km/hr in 7.7 seconds, achieves a maximum speed of 130 km/h, and offers a driving range of 250 km in city range speed. DOK-ING, being the first specialised carmaker to develop and promote a full-electric car in Croatia, is now looking for active support from the government and from private investors to further refine and mass-produce the vehicle. Talking to cars21.com, DOK-ING confirmed that the Croatian supplying industry would be well placed to offer the whole range of needed components for electric vehicles as it is already a reliable partner of domestic and foreign automotive manufacturers. | Community Activity asher touriel | 13 hours ago Joined!
